Endo-Express and SafeSiders - Make Rotory Irrelevant! | |
The Endo-Express™ Reciprocating Handpiece and the SafeSiders® make rotary irrelevant. Eliminate the fear of fracture associated with crown-down systems and the typical shortcomings of the step-back process. Unlike rotary, rotation prevents binding, by engaging dentin only during clockwise rotation. Counterclockwise rotation disengages from the dentin. Excessive force is never needed. Replace instruments because they dull and not because you fear they will break! |
Proper length maintenance is critical in endodontics. Over instrumentation can lead to periapical inflammation as well as blowing out an apical constriction that helps contain the cement and gutta percha used to obturate the canal. A traditional stop is really not a predictable controller of length if it has the potential to ride up the shank of an
instrument.
The SafeSiders Endo Stops increase the dentist’s ability to predictably maintain proper working length while instrumenting. By having stops of varying lengths (all color-coded for convenience) that abut against the handle of the instrument, the potential to ride up the shank is eliminated. This is true whether the instruments are used manually or in the Endo-Express reciprocating handpiece.
The new SafeSiders Endo Stops are as a kit that contains 300 color coded Endo Stops (50 of each of 6 sizes, 0.5mm, 1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm, each stop is 3.3mm in dia.)
Steri-Tracker Advantages:
• Track number of sterilizations / uses with sterilization / use counter.
• Accommodates 16 instruments of all lengths.
• Millimeter gauge measures SafeSiders and positions rubber stop.
• Large slotting provides visibility of SafeSiders & adequate draining during ultrasonic cleaning and sterilization.
• Foam insert for holding / cleaning files (12/pk. included.).
• Autoclavable up to 275 degrees F, 136 degrees C (no dry heat).
Instructions:
To load or unload the Steri-Tracker:
• Twist the block and the guard in different directions.
• Reverse guard for left or right hand usage
• Remove and dispose foam insert before sterilization
• Use sterilization / use counter to track the number of times SafeSiders have been sterilized / used by
sliding to the next position.
Note: To ensure practical instrument sharpness EDS recommends discarding SafeSiders after 6 uses.
The Pleezer gives the dentist increased tactile perception apically allowing differentiation between a narrow canal and an impassable blockage. The Pleezer has a .03 mm/mm taper through its 9 mm of cutting length. As the Pleezer goes deeper, the increasing thickness of the cutting portion has more ability to lean on the outside wall of the canal giving it greater potential to straighten the outer wall. The tip of the Pleezer is thinner, therefore, cuts less dentin and is less likely to push debris apically. The Pleezer cuts less at the tip piercing canal debris more easily so the desired depth and coronal straightening process occurs with the application of significantly less apical hand pressure further reducing the chances of fracture. The tip size of the new Pleezer is .75 mm compared to the .90 mm tip size of a No. 2 peeso. The thinner tip size means the cutting head right beyond the non-cutting safety tip will encounter less resistance as it heads apically simply because at the head it is cutting less dentin. A thinner tip also finds the hole it must widen that much easier too.
The Pleezer is part of the Safesiders Introductory Kit and is also available for sale as a refill kit that contains 6 SafeSiders Pleezers.
